  • People say smoking is a choice....

but if you are addicted to something, doesn't that rule out that choice?

Sometimes we make decisions in our young lives that aren't the wisest, even when there are dire consequences involved.  When you start smoking, you do make a choice to start what could possibly be a long term addiction.  I quit smoking almost three years ago, and I made the choice to start and stop smoking.  It's an addiction like any other addiction.  The addict is the only one that can say when.

  • My weekend...

This weekend is going to be really cool.  Donald and I are going to see
a foreign art house film called Mongol: The Story of the Rise of
Ghenghis Khan.  I haven't seen a movie like that in a long time, so
this should be a treat.  Before that, Donald and I are going to dinner
at our favorite Indian restaurant.  I had a little late start today.
Don and I decided to sleep in.  Both of use weren't feeling too well
yesterday.   I want to try and get to the farm market this weekend.  I
want to get some fresh produce.  This is the perfect time of year for
    it.

Tuesday, I'm going to the college to put my signatures on
the financial aid paperwork that I need for school.  I also have to
fill out some course information for the next semester.  After that's
done, I won't be on campus until the beginning of September.  Very
exciting to have the Summer free like that.  I've been working on some
graphics for a fan site I'm supporting.  I hope that everything will
    work out in that department.

Don't have too much more really...  Have a good one....

  • George Carlin... RIP

    Defintely will be missed.

  • Today I'm going blueberry harvesting at Emery's BlueBerry farm.  I can't wait.  I do this every year during this time and I love the experience everytime.  Especially on a nice day like this.  The photo above shows Duke Blueberries, which will the ones that I pick this afternoon.

    Enjoy your day...

  • Is there a specific epithet, slang term or curse word that you absolutely cannot stand?

If you have virgin ears... Cunt is one of the curse words that I can think of.  A slang term that I can think of is Holla... I flipping hate that term.

  • If you could choose your family members, who would you choose as your parents?

I think that I am a strong person, because of the parents that I already have.  So I think I'll stick with what I was born with.

  • School planning, Summer planting, and current events

I'm taking leave from MySpace and coming back on Xanga for a while.    So lately, I have been trying to iron out the financial paperwork to see if I can become eligible for another grant for the Autumnal Semester.  It's a real pain in the ass, but it's well worth it.  I was lucky enough to have the grant through my other semesters, but every other year you have to renew.  I have yet to finish choosing some of my classes.  I have no idea why I am so behind this year, but I guess it's Spring/Summer fever.  I just want to take things slowly for some reason.  I should be done with it by the end of next week.  I'm really not in a hurry with school stuff at this point.  I just want to relax and start enjoying my Summer.

So I have been working on my deck and garden for the Summer.  I've been working with my tomato plants, and have some nice herbs planted.  My husband helped me with the impatients and the lavender plants around the border of the deck.  I just got a new gazebo also, which I can't wait to finish.  The only thing that is bothering me is this english ivy that the former owners of this house planted.  Last year, we thought that we were able to kill all of the shoots with the ivy killer, and ripped out what we thought was the last of the plants.  When I went to plant some of the impatients, lo' and behold it was back.    So I have to go through the whole process again.

I can't believe all of the flooding going on in the South and Midwest.  Global warming is making everything go crazy.  I feel terrible for all of those people who've lost their homes and farms.  Most of these people did not have flood insurance to cover the damage the water made.  My husband and I live near a river, and my house insurance company has advised us to acquire flood insurance.  With everything that is going on lately, I'm really thinking on doing that very thing.  When I was heading down to Atlantic City to see a concert, it was raining like mad out, and I looked at the Bass River and it was so high that I thought it would flood right over the parkway.  Same with the Mullica River.  The same thing that is happening out in the midwest could just as well happen out here.  (I wish that our government would stop being greedy and start facing the problems that global warming is causing in our atmosphere)  I want to be prepared in case that were ever to happen.

Well... that's about all that I have for tonight.  Have a good weekend...
